Common materials for machining

1. 45 # steel

Performance: Good, low hardenability, prone to cracking during water quenching

Usage: Used for manufacturing high-strength moving parts, such as turbine impellers and compressor pistons. Shafts, gears, racks, worms, etc.


2. 0235A

Performance: It has high plasticity, toughness, welding performance, cold stamping performance, as well as certain strength and good cold bending performance.

Usage: Widely used for general requirements of parts and welded structures


3. 40Cr

Performance: It has good comprehensive mechanical properties, low-temperature impact toughness, low notch sensitivity, and good hardenability.

Usage: Used for manufacturing medium speed and medium load parts, such as machine tool gears, shafts, worms, spline shafts, top needle sleeves, etc.


4. HT150 gray cast iron

Performance: Medium strength cast iron has good casting process performance, including gear box, machine bed, box, hydraulic cylinder, and pump housing.

Usage: valve body, flywheel, cylinder head, pulley, bearing cover, etc


5. 35 # steel

Performance: Good plasticity, high cold plasticity, and acceptable weldability

Usage: Suitable for manufacturing small section zero, parts that can withstand large loads such as crankshafts, levers, connecting rods, hooks, etc., as well as various standard parts and fasteners


6. 65Mn

Usage: A type of spring steel that can be used to make various small-sized flat and round springs, seat cushion springs, spring springs, as well as spring rings, valve springs, clutch springs, brake springs, cold coil coil springs, snap springs, etc


7. 0Cr18Ni9

Performance: One of the commonly used stainless steels, widely used as heat-resistant stainless steel

Usage: such as food equipment, general chemical equipment, atomic industry


8. Cr12

Performance: This steel has good hardenability and good wear resistance

Usage: Mainly used for manufacturing cold stamping dies, punches, cutting dies, cold heading dies, cold extrusion dies with low impact loads and high wear resistance requirements, as well as punches and protrusions for drilling sleeves, gauges, drawing dies, stamping dies, wire drawing plates, deep drawing dies, and cold pressing dies for powder metallurgy


9. 3Cr13

Usage: Suitable for manufacturing plastic molds that can withstand high loads, wear resistance, and are exposed to corrosive media


10. YG6X

Performance: Hard alloy has high hardness, wear resistance, good strength and toughness, heat resistance, and corrosion resistance

Usage: Used for manufacturing hard alloy cutting tools


11. T10、T12

Usage: To make turning tools, milling cutters, and drill bits for lathes and planers; Can produce reamers, reamers, taps, dies, scrapers, gauges, and tobacco cutters. Files, as well as cold cutting edge molds, punching molds with small cross-sectional dimensions, etc


12. 6061 and 6063 aluminum alloys

Performance: It has moderate strength, good corrosion resistance, weldability, and good oxidation effect

Usage: Widely used in various non industrial structural components that require certain strength and high corrosion resistance, such as manufacturing trucks, tower buildings, ships, trams, furniture, etc. 6063 aluminum alloy is commonly used in the manufacturing of aluminum alloy doors and windows.
